Meet jeanmarie alessi
Jeanmarie is an organizational learning and development consultant, facilitator, and executive coach with over 25 years of experience in coaching executives and designing and facilitating adult learning initiatives. She has worked in various industries including financial services, law firms, technology, publishing, communications, education, non-profit, retail and health care. As a consultant, she has trained hundreds of employees in New York City, nationally, and internationally. As a coach she coaches mid to senior executives in the process of increasing their self-awareness and targeted competency building to achieve their career goals.
Jeanmarie’s areas of expertise include leadership development, communication, consulting skills, emotional intelligence, change management, career development and team building. She is certified in a number of personality/style assessments and has coached people to better understand how their personality/style influences their leadership style, team performance, and career goals. Additionally, she uses instruments such as the Emotional Competency Inventory, Strength Deployment Inventory. Hogan Assessment Series and a number of other 360 degree assessments in her work with clients.
As a lead facilitator for Loeb’s “Managing for Impact” management development series, Jeanmarie consistently gets rave reviews on her engaging facilitation and deep knowledge of management practices and models.
A native of New York, Jeanmarie attended Fordham University, where she received her Master’s of Science in Education and Training and Development. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Merrimack College in Andover, Massachusetts. She is a loving and devoted mother to her son, Samuel.

Coached the Global Director of Technology of a law firm. Coachee was promoted from within the firm and it was decided that coaching would be an opportunity to focus on managing the transition. Coaching focused on navigating managing former peers, adjusting style to accommodate global relationships, managing virtually and gaining commitment to an expanded vision.
Coached a senior manager of a fortune 100 marketing organization. Coachee lost a major account because of his inability to delegate effectively and manage his frustration with a new account manager from the client side. Coachee was spiraling down with lack of confidence and a negative self-image. Coach worked with coachee to regain his confidence level through assessing his long and productive career in the industry. Coachee worked on better understanding his triggers for frustration and inability to let go of control. Coachee bounced back from an adverse experience and improved his image by delegating more and managing his frustration levels.
Coached the SVP of Internal Compliance for the Global Wealth Management division of a fortune 100 financial services company. Coachee was hired with the promise of being promoted to a Managing Director within her first year and it was now four years later and she had not received this promotion. In an effort to retain the coaching client and support her in the promotion process a coach was hired. 360-degree feedback from the Emotional Intelligence Inventory and qualitative feedback collected by the coach from key stakeholders revealed that the coaching client needed to reframe how she negotiated with internal auditors to implement her vision of controls and be more strategic with her networking. Coachee was promoted to Management Director after a year of coaching.
Coached the Director of Auctioning at a large auction house. Coachee was a high performing manager that was receiving negative feedback on how he came across in meetings to peers. Coachee desired to be promoted to Senior Vice President and the organization wanted to support him with coaching. The Emotional Competency Inventory revealed that he needed to improve his relationship with his manager and some peers and change the way he positioned himself in the organization. Coachee was promoted to Senior Vice President with in a year.
Coached a financial officer of a fortune 100 financial organization. Coachee made presentations to the Chief Financial Officer and needed to improve his professional presence when responding to difficult questions and impromptu conversation within the meetings. Videotaping and coaching around dealing with emotional reactions helped the client to be able to enter the meetings more relaxed and respond more confidently to challenging questions and to gear his presentations more to his specific audience’s needs. Coachee continues to receive positive feedback from his CFO and his immediate manger and has been given added responsibility because of this improvement.
