Meet HishAM Beydoun

Hisham Beydoun (“Hisho”) is a multicultural and multilingual global citizen. Today, he trains and certifies Executive Coaches by the International Coaching Federation’s Gold standard of Coaching. In addition, he coaches newly hired or recently promoted leaders who step into managing teams. Hisham’s global experience has influenced his coaching so he can adeptly switch intercultural lenses as he works with his coachees. Before discovering his passion for coaching, Hisham Beydoun graduated from Babson College with his MBA in Global Management and served as President of the Graduate Student Body where he represented 4,000 student voices. After completing his studies, he helped found and build a consulting company and scaled it from 300,000 in revenue to 2.5MM in 2 years. Prior to pursuing his MBA and coaching career, Hisham worked as the Corporate Social Responsibility Director in Beirut, Lebanon where he built businesses to support Syrian refugees. Before moving to Lebanon, he worked for an NGO in New York City where he employed adults with mental illness to provide them vocational training and basic income. Before that, he was a full-time classroom teacher on the small pacific island of Kosrae (population 5,000) in the Federated States of Micronesia. 

Hisham is a surfer, rocker climber, skier, backpacker, mountain biker, general outdoor and life enthusiast. He has lived and worked abroad in 4 countries for the majority of his career post-college, and is an avid traveler who has visited more than 40 countries. He has been a meditation teacher in the Vipassana tradition for 10 years, is a Wilderness First Responder (WFR), and previous rock-climbing and outdoor leader. In his free time, Hisham mentors refugee youth in San Diego, rock climbs, surfs, and enjoys solo adventures in California's Anza Borrego deserts.

Relevant Experience

  • Coached a VP for IBM on how to create alignment for the 700+ direct reports under her. The coaching included how to communicate terminations of employments to a team managing a failing line of business. As a result, she increased her executive presence with senior VP’s, got buy-in from her direct reports, and increased the personal satisfaction within her work-life.

  • Coached a variety of VPs at Thomson Reuters on leading growth, boldly, through their period of rapid growth and hiring. Coachees brought up a variety of issues including complex interpersonal team dynamics, hiring decisions, positioning their teams to navigate ambiguity. As a result, coachees increased their confidence and resilience through company growing pains.

  • Coached a Director of Innovation for an energy company during her first 90 days of employment. Supported the coachee on planning, visibility to executives, and caring for herself through the transition. As a result, the coachee was recognized by senior leadership and put on a growth track within her first 3 months.

  • Coached a retiring head of Talent at a large media company as she was exiting in preparation for retirement. Coaching focused on creating a legacy within the workplace and how to show up more as a mentor and coach than as a boss or leader. As a result, she was able to create a small cohort of mentees on how to manage, lead and navigate political ambiguity at the firm.

  • Coached a senior leader for the United States Airforce on how to realign her work so that she feels greater sense of purpose, motivation, and satisfaction at work after getting pulled from her project in Afghanistan.

  • Coached a Director of Media at a large media company on how to be more assertive and take risks. As a result, the coachee presented a business problem to leadership, recommending a solution and way forward. The coachee is leaving with more confidence in himself and a renewed sense of self and leadership.
