Meet ANN Timmons

Ann Timmons, Communications Artist, is an expert in helping emerging and established leaders across all sectors speak so others will listen. A professional actor/writer/director, Ann has developed a distinctive, experiential approach to presentation skills and executive presence coaching. She helps clients discover how to access the confidence they need to convey credibility and competence while connecting with listeners. Clients develop the essential ability to stay in the moment and deliver memorable messages.

Ann’s clients range from former prisoners lobbying for restoration of voting rights, candidates for elected office, to subject matter experts of all types who need to be understood by those who may not speak their insider language, and executives speaking to audiences of all sizes.

Ann shares more than three decades of professional theatre and film experience, teaching, and coaching. Her coaching addresses a variety of communications situations, from preparation for specific events, such as campaign announcement speeches and internationally telecast business conference keynotes, to discovery of new and better ways to communicate clearly with team members and other internal and external stakeholders.

Drawing upon her years as a playwright, she is skilled in content development, including speech writing and editing, talking points for meetings and discussions, and slide deck messaging. Ann specializes in cutting through wonk speak and jargon to make clients’ messages fresh, authentic, and relatable.

Coaching Philosophy

Working with clients on finding their powerful voices and using them is a privilege! I work with each individual and meet them where they are, addressing their needs by going to the root of the issue. I address issues of content as well as delivery. There is a physical component to speaking that often gets overlooked in the mad dash to create dynamic content. Or attention to posture and breath that falls by the wayside when it comes to leadership development. I tell my clients, "You are an instrument of communication, all of you — the physical being as well as the mental one." And when we integrate the two, authentic presence is discovered. And it won't get lost again!
